Sonnen is hands down the best battery out there! It’s not just storage, it’s a full VPP that manages everything seamlessly. My bill savings are great, and I’m even getting checks in the mail. Highly recommend!

Do not buy this product! It doesn't work and the company will not help you when you have a problem. I've got a $30k battery system in my garage that has broken several times in 3 years. Currently it is not operating at all. Complete waste of money.

Update 2025. Still a total waste of money.

Once we worked out the initial bugs, our Sonnen eco 16 is working great with our solar PV system. It maximizes our autonomy in that it minimizes what what we have to purchase from the grid, but with net metering doesn't really save any $. In fact the increased autonomy (70-90% as compared to 10-30% without the battery) comes at an average$10/month lower net metering credit as the energy that would be going back to the grid for credit is charging/discharging the battery. It provides backup if necessary along with our PV system (using it every day in Self Consumption mode to power our house over night, thus much better than a traditional propane or natural gas generator that requires annual maintenance, makes a lot of noise and gets used maybe a couple of times a year). Only dissatisfaction is we'd like Sonnen to allow us to change operating mode (Self Consumption to Backup) while traveling and/or integrate the weather alert feature of the new ecolinx so that the battery is fully charged when impending outage risks are high.

I give sonnen five stars!

The battery is beautiful, and I love displaying it in my home! I feel very proud to have it in my home and it’s a great reminder to be aware of how I am interacting with the environment! I feel confident that I have the safest, longest lasting solar power battery in my home!
The sonnen team is was extremely helpful they went out of their way to help me to fully understand what the batterie does and excited about powering my home using a sonnen batterie! This is the future!
