Order this glasses behalf of my friend Paula in Latvia here in England.
The order was taking bit longer then usual, because the first order lost in France,but we sorted out everything with good communication. As soon I received the parcel,I was really excited. Very secured box,well packed, beautiful glasses, good quality frames, and very vintage glass case.

Once again had excellent service after a mini-disaster when my last pair (also from Spex in the City which had given me 5 years service) fell from the top of a roller-coaster.

From the Eye-test on site which was relaxed, thorough and unrushed to help in choosing frames and lenses the staff were brilliant and helpful. They even went as far as providing me with temporary glasses as I was out of spare glasses whilst I wait for the order to arrive. Due to the range they have and the service they provide I'm always happy to recommend!

I walked into Spex in the City randomly in the summer and think it was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. The entire experience from starting to talk about what sort of frames I was on the search for, to the after purchase service, has been a delight.

In comparison to a lot of the high street stores the Spex in the City shop is enchantingly small in size, but big on choice and service. Clearly there has been a lot of thought put into the glasses on offer as it was so hard to choose from all the unique frames, but thankfully the utterly charming service from the team there, including the owner of the shop Gillian whom I mainly dealt with, helped me select a pair that I genuinely felt great wearing – the compliments from my friends reinforced this.

I recommend giving Spex and the City a visit – a wonderful surprise for anyone that wears glasses.

LOVE this store and its proprietor. The glass frames are original, handmade and artistic. The owner travels the world for the right materials and makes only limited editions of each frame. We ended up buying a new one-of-a-kind frame- truly a piece of art-- but there was no pressure at all to buy. The store is warm and inviting.The service was excellent. As Americans we were also able to get a VAT refund on our way out of the EU. Definitely worth a look-see!! We'll go to London again-- with this as one of our priority stops!

I have just reconnected with Spex in the City after a 10 year gap, being away from London. I first encountered them via the previous owner Gillian, who made such an effort to make this the business it is. Nothing has changed. The collection of spectacle frames is as extensive and eclectic as ever.

I bought 2 pairs and the customer service is first class from assistance with selection through to fitting and aftercare, thanks Adam.

I recommend Spex in the City as a first class outlet, and will be back soon for some prescription sunglasses!

This is the best shop I've been to for frames. While every other shop has the same boring, overpriced junk, this shop has loads of options from interesting designers, and it's all curated by people that know what they're doing. Always a pleasure to shop here, really great advice and service, and I always appreciate it when they're able to get everything sorted fast, so that I can new glasses home on short visits to London.

It’s always a pleasure to see someone operating at the top of their game and genuinely focusing (sorry!) on their customer which is in sharp contrast to the patronising, scripted advice and upsell you often get at the big optical chains.

After a nice welcoming chat, they really took the time to absolutely nail my prescription, whilst offering some really useful, pragmatic advice to maintain my eye health. This was followed up with a styling consultation for a new pair of glasses where the guys suggested frames that would work for me- perfectly blending form and function.

The end result was a pair of glasses that fit and suit me perfectly. I could not be happier with them.

So if you own a pair of eyes and you would like them to work as well as they possibly can and have eyewear that everyone else is not wearing on tube ... these are your guys. Overall experience 15/10.
