From the moment we stepped into The Mill at Sonning we were captivated. The ambiance is enchanting, with a rustic charm that perfectly complements the elegant surroundings. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
But the real star of the show is the food. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and creativity. The Mill at Sonning is a must-visit for any discerning foodie. It's a place where you can truly savor exceptional cuisine in a truly unforgettable setting.
We attended the show at the adjacent theatre afterwards.

My husband and I had a brilliant first experience here.

The bar is beautiful and we really enjoyed seeing the turning waterwheel.

The buffet was great; very tasty and filling .The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. We really enjoyed having our own table that we could return to in the intermission.

The small theatre itself is stunning and intimate with easy access from the dining area.

Everything from the parking to the bar, the food, the theatre, the service, and the experience was top notch!

We will definitely be going here again, and highly recommend it.

UPDATE: I've recently been again for my second visit. We saw Calendar Girls. Brilliant show! Very impressed with our experiences. I enjoy the intimate atmosphere. I've now signed up as a Friend of the Mill.

Beautiful venue and lovely experience. Tickets to the venue inc. a two course meal. Staff helpful and friendly. The food was wholesome and the theatre great. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Highly recommend

Lovely bar, could have done with a little warmth. Great food: choice, unlimited single visit buffet. Would like more bread in the basket (1 slice each) and more sugar (1 per cup) without asking. Attentive staff.
Theatre is in the same building and easy access. Every seat has a good view of the in-the-round stage.

Our latest visit on Friday 29th November 2024 to see the evening performance of White Christmas. Excellent show and really brought the festive feeling. The food and wine was very nice. If rumours are correct and the buffet is going to be replaced with table service will ONLY work, if the VERY young waiting staff are PROPERLY trained. Personally, I think its a bad business decision. Dropped one star because of the unacceptable condition of one of the bar stools at the bar (see photo). Someone had clearly used it to stand on. I told two members of staff and they did nothing and left it. I had to stop some people from sitting on it.

We’ve just had an extraordinary evening at The Mill. The whole place is unique, buildings are stunning and having a drink with the relaxing sound of the water mill as a background is priceless. The buffet food was very tasty and varied, the service excellent and the staff polite and friendly. The show we attended was the most hilarious comedy I’ve seen in a long time, had laughed with tears! We’ll be definitely back often!

Fabulous cosy venue to see a quality tribute act, this time it was the 3 Kings, Elvis Buddy and Roy. Worth looking out for many others, during the year. Had a great evening. The buffet meal is plentiful, and really tasty, the bar is quirky with small areas surrounding the workings of the old watermill. Very friendly staff to help you have a fun evening .

Enjoyed food before performance, however we were shocked to discover we had to pay an extra £5 per seat and ended up sitting in very uncomfortable, temporary chairs which were unsuitable for disabled members in our group
